If I don’t use DOPE, how would I run an EDDM campaign?
You would want to get 5-10k postcards from your chosen printshop. They come bundled in sets of 100 usually, which you would need to break apart. Then, you would go to the USPS site and select the routes you’d like! After that, you’d want to make sure that you’re targeting who you want to target. What we mean by this is that many times there are apartments and homes on the same route. If you’re a home services company, you probably don’t want to market to renters. For instance, if you pick a route with 1100 addresses, and 700 end up being apartments, you’re paying for 1100 postcards and only hitting 400 people in your audience. When you’ve gotten your paperwork in order, and have your postcards ready, then it’s time to hit the post office. At the post office, you make sure you have your paperwork done correctly by the authority there. Spoiler alert, you probably will not have done it correctly.
